OSI Systems is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Tax Manager to join the tax team. This individual will be responsible for managing the company's federal and state income tax compliance, income tax reporting, and at times income tax planning functions. In addition, they will have strong technical tax knowledge, leadership capabilities, and a proactive approach to identifying and completing projects. This role is hands-on and detailed oriented.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee preparation and review of federal, state, and local income tax returns, including preparing quarterly and annual tax provisions.
  • Lead the preparation and review of the Company's state apportionment factors.
  • Manage and assist with computation of federal and state tax depreciation and amortization.
  • Manage and assist with the computation and payment of federal and state quarterly estimated taxes.
  • Develop and mentor staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and external advisors to support business initiatives and ensure tax compliance.
  • Manage tax audits, providing necessary documentation and support to auditors.
  • Conduct US federal and state tax research as necessary.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring the company remains compliant and proactive in its tax planning.
  • Assist in maintaining and enhancing internal controls over tax reporting and compliance.
  • Uphold the company's core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork.
  • Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company's Code of Ethics and Conduct. Ensure that direct report(s) are trained and evaluated on their knowledge and adherence to the company's values, Code of Ethics and Conduct, and applicable compliance policies.
  • It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.
  • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Accounting or related field required. M.S. preferred.
  • CPA or equivalent certification desired but not required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in managing others.
  • Tax management experience in a large public accounting firm and with a multinational company is needed.
  • Excellent knowledge of ASC 740 reporting is a plus.
  • Must have a strong background in both Federal and State tax compliance.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and train others.
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills are needed.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex tax information clearly and concisely.
