JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Ambulatory Services provides day to day operational oversight for ancillary or assigned departments. Implements strategy of CEO, COO and Corporation. Manages assigned departments efficiently and effectively to maximize quality of services, operational efficiency, and physician alignment. The Director of Ambulatory Services is responsible for budget planning and growth objectives to further the footprint of Doctors Hospital of Laredo. Assists with service line and business development activities in their assigned areas of responsibility.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Directs operational strategy to ensure quality, service excellence, patient expeirence, key performance indicators (KPIs), and employee engagement in all areas of responsibility are aligned with the organizational goals and objectives.
  2. Develops and implements quality programs to meet community needs.
  3. Through appropriate management practices, creates a climate for employee motivation and high performance. Establishes direction, coaches and develops employees, provides feedback, and fosters employee loyalty and trust.
  4. Participates in leadership and other appropriate meetings as assigned.
  5. Promotes Service Excellence.
  6. Responsible for administrative functions of the acute care and out-patient areas.
  7. Responsible for productivity, budgeting and financial operations of delegated cost centers
  8. Developos and establishes relatinships with physicians and other community members as necessary
  9. Maintains contract negotiations on an on-going basis with various outside agencies, and vendors

10.Develops, implements, and maintains current departmental/program policies and procedures that are

compliant with all regulatory agencies

11.Ensure operations meet all current infection control standards.

  1. Promotes and ensures service lines provide evidence based care
  2. Recognize/communicate ethical and legal concerns through established channels of communication

14 .Manage clinical policies and standards with Medical Director of service lines as appropriate

  1. Performs other duties as assigned/required.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. 5-8 years of experience in an acute care setting as well as operational eperience with multiple locations and service lines.
  2. Minimum of 2-3 years of previous experience managing employees necessary.
  3. Must be detail oriented and able to focus on nuances of multiple hospital operations.

  7. Effective communication skills with diverse groups, including physicians, managers, and employees is required.
  8. Knowledge of the financial implications of decisions including budgeting and forecasting for a limited number of departments and/or projects is required.
  9. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to DHL's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.
  10. Current CPR certification required.
  11. Continued employment is contingent on successfully maintaining current required certification(s) and/or license(s).
  12. Knowledge of the principles, procedures and regulations governing Medicare/TJC/HIPPA Standards.
  13. Master's degree in healthcare related field required, MBA/MHA highly preferred.
