This role is part of Alcon's Engineering function, a team focused on improving quality, processes, products, packaging and materials across our business to help deliver brilliant outcomes.

The Associate I, Electromechanical Technical Support (Science/Tech/Engineering Path), is primarily responsible for applying technical knowledge to design, develop, and maintain electro-mechanical systems. You will troubleshoot, test, and assemble assemblies, install and calibrate equipment, and assist in developing technical solutions. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and staying current with system advances.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Apply technical knowledge to design, develop, implement, operate, and maintain electro-mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshoot, test, and assemble electro-mechanical assemblies, including reworking, repairing, and modifying non-conforming equipment.
  • Install, calibrate, test, repair, and upgrade equipment and systems, including device components, control equipment, and facility infrastructure.
  • Assist engineers in developing technical solutions for device and system operations.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment using tools and diagnostic software.
  • Use computer-aided-design software to model proposed systems for safety and reliability assessment.
  • Support project goals through effective task completion and decision-making
  • Adhere to GxP regulations by following SOPs, maintaining documentation, and ensuring quality control.
  • Meet individual job requirements and contribute to organizational compliance.
  • Commit to continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • 3 Years of Relevant Experience
  • Work Hours: 36 - 48 hours per week (12-hour rotating day shift: 2 days on, 2 days off, and every other weekend)
  • Travel Requirements: None
  • Relocation assistance: No

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with CMM Tooling Measurements.
  • Mold-Tool-Set-Up (MTSU) equipment repair skills
  • DSMFLEX Plate Cleaning experience
