Summary: Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President of Mortgages, the Mortgage Processor II will process mortgage loan files and assist members in submitting a completed application in accordance with established APGFCU policies and procedures, as well as investor guidelines. The Mortgage Processor II will complete a general evaluation of the mortgage loan application and initial disclosures, along with completing a thorough evaluation of credit, income and asset documentation. The Mortgage Processor II will work closely with the member(s), loan officer and underwriter to ensure approval conditions are satisfied and work to obtain all necessary documentation required for approval. The Mortgage Processor II will use automated underwriting systems and Conventional, VA, USDA, FHA and APGFCU Portfolio selling guides. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
STAFF SUPPORT: Provide back up support to mortgage consultants and closers as needed, or in their absence. EDUCATION: High School Diploma with two years additional specialized course/training. Associates degree preferred. Experience may be credited in lieu of education. Additional: Responsible for completion of applicable training and compliance on federal regulations and APGFCU policies and procedures as related to the duties of this position (Bank Secrecy Act, Information Security as examples, if applicable). EXPERIENCE: Four to six years of mortgage processing experience preferred. Consumer loan underwriting experience preferred. Knowledge of FNMA guidelines, FHA, VA and USDA. Able to verify income for wage earners and self-employed borrowers. Proven success in managing a large pipeline. ADDITIONAL:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: History of meeting/exceeding service levels and/or production goals directly correlated to corporate and department objectives. Strong interpersonal skills building and maintaining professional relationships with co-workers and vendors. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organization and time management skills to effectively prioritize objectives. Works to achieve goals in spite of barriers or difficulties; pursues objectives with energy and persistence.
