Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform service, installation, and activation of security systems, surround sound systems, system components, speakers, TV hangs, remote controls, shades and screens, advanced lighting controls, and systems requiring Control4 automation and programming.
- Communicate with customers to review work orders and answer questions professionally.
- Instruct and train customers/end users on system functions and operations.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of security systems operation, functions, and wiring requirements.
- Understand security systems installed and serviced by Phoenix Systems (NX, SimonXTi, 2Gig, DSC, Qolsys, etc.).
- Handle after-hours emergency service calls (as assigned on a rotation basis).
- Create and edit Control4 IR Drivers.
- Install and program shades and screens.
- Have tools and experience needed to terminate multimode fiber ends.
- Calibrate advanced projectors and receivers for optimal video and sound.
- Think independently and resolve technical issues without supervision.
- Perform duties of Trim Tech II/III and A/V Security Technician II as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with security and/or Audio/Video installations required.
- Active Control4 Associate Installer & Automation Programmer certifications through SnapAV are required.
- Active Control4 Food and Beverage Client Certification through SnapAV is preferred.
- Centralized Lighting Certification through SnapAV is preferred.
- Lutron Lighting Certification preferred.
- Knowledge of cable types and technologies, with the ability to distinguish which types to use in installation scenarios.
- Ability to accurately assess system design and functionality when adding additional components.
- Knowledge of networking requirements for routers, switches, DVRs, network components, WAPs, etc.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Work in a clean and unobtrusive manner.
- Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within standard accepted practices.
- Must have or be willing to obtain basic tools to perform job responsibilities.
- Must be able to clear a background check and drug screening.
- Clear MVR required.
- Technical or vocational related schooling is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk, and hear.
- Frequent use of step ladders and extension ladders.
- Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds.
Work Environment:
- Active construction sites.
- Exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust.
- Moderate noise.
