About The Position

Responsible for analyzing and reporting external and internal credit risk information, including providing advice and recommendations through technical analysis of credit information. The position is also responsible for negotiating credit issues with external counterparties.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist in / perform in-depth financial analysis of counterparties; recommend appropriate credit limits.
  • Assist in / perform valuation analysis of proposed power, gas, emissions, coal, rail fuel surcharge hedging, and nuclear fuel deals.
  • Advise traders and marketers of credit risk involved with potential customers, transactions and proposals.
  • Obtain open lines of credit from counterparties and respond to counterparty requests.
  • Assist in negotiations / independently negotiate credit sections of contracts, netting agreements and other agreements (e.g., ISDAs, NAESBs, and non-standard contracts for power, gas, coal, emissions, nuclear fuel, etc.).
  • Run and distribute daily and weekly credit reports for Ameren's business lines and senior management.
  • Assist in the preparation of materials for the company's Risk Management Steering Committee.
  • Perform corporate level technical analysis of credit exposure reports and concentrations of credit risk to ensure compliance with Risk Management Policy.
  • Negotiate parent guarantees, letters of credit and other credit enhancements for business lines.
  • Work closely with front, mid, and back office to ensure integrity of master agreements and credit provisions.
  • Assist in the generation of SEC and Rating Agency disclosures, including, but not limited to, liquidity analyses and margin requirements in the event of downgrade events.
  • Track collateral issued to and posted by Ameren; make margin calls and handle incoming calls.
  • Assist in maintaining credit risk information in the appropriate systems.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an analytical field (finance, accounting, economics or related discipline) required. Three or more years relevant experience (in-depth analysis of financial statements, etc.) required. Experience supporting energy commodity trading or marketing in power and natural gas markets preferred.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

Microsoft Office proficiency. Working knowledge of mark-to-market (MtM) and other risk-related measurements preferred.

Compensation Range:

$71,100.00 - $110,200.00

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
