A well-established New Berlin manufacturer is seeking an experienced Machine Builder to join the team. This hands-on role combines technical assembly work with leadership and coordination responsibilities. The ideal candidate is mechanically skilled, highly organized, and enjoys leading in a fast-paced environment. As a Lead Machine Builder, you'll oversee the building of precision machinery from start to finish ensuring quality, efficiency, and team success every step of the way. 1st Shift Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm. Pays base on experience, includes health insurance, dental, 401k, paid holiday, and paid time off.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Build and assemble complex machinery and subassemblies following blueprints, schematics, and detailed build instructions.
  • Lead and coordinate day-to-day activities of the assembly team to meet project timelines and production goals.
  • Organize workflow, assign priorities, and monitor progress throughout the assembly process.
  • Perform mechanical layout, drilling, tapping, fitting, and alignment of components using appropriate tools and hardware.
  • Verify all mechanical parts, fasteners, and materials are correctly installed and meet quality standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate material or component shortages to purchasing and production teams.
  • Maintain detailed records of project status, work completed, and any build-related issues.
  • Collaborate with engineering, electrical, and machining departments to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical challenges.
  • Train, mentor, and support assembly technicians on best practices, assembly techniques, and safety procedures.
  • Promote a clean, organized, and safe work environment while maintaining adherence to company quality standards.


Required Qualifications:



  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in machine building, mechanical assembly, or custom equipment manufacturing.
  • Proven leadership or team coordination experience in a production or assembly environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to improving processes.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills across multiple departments.
