NPI Buyer Planner, Energy Storage

We're looking for a highly motivated NPI Buyer to manage NPI sourcing and planning during early Engineering builds for projects across Energy, Solar Products and Vehicles products. This is a cross-functional role that requires close coordination among different groups internally and externally of Tesla. In this role, you will be immersed in early NPI design phases, and act as owner to Plan and Source for components during early Engineering builds. You will also build and leverage strong working relationships with cross-functional partners in engineering and work together with our suppliers to assure cost, quality and delivery targets are met to achieve maximum advantage for Tesla and our customers.

• Deliver clear-to-build status, material coverage, run-out reports and other analyses as requested to plan for Engineering Builds
• Build and maintain partnerships with assigned suppliers. Act as the primary interface with suppliers on delivery status, DFM or quality issues and resolution
• Escalate to commercial or technical partners when required (procurement, accounts payable, quality, engineering, etc.)
• Monitor current market conditions and technology roadmaps to proactively identify and address any supply challenges, in advanced where possible, and to determine future business opportunities or risks
• Document component costs and work with Finance to track BOM cost in different program phases as needed

• Experience in sourcing, manufacturing, finance, supply chain management, or a combination
• Degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Industrial Engineering or similar discipline, or equivalent experience
• CPIM or APIC training is a plus. High or advanced proficiency in MS Excel. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP with a solid understand of discrete manufacturing, bills of material, product lifecycle management, procure to pay processes and supply chain operations
• Ability to evaluate and analyze data to enable operational decision-making or present clear recommendations to leadership. Demonstrated skills in supplier operational and relationship management
• Passionate and high energy, with the diplomacy and cooperative style necessary to positively influence others, both inside and outside of Tesla. Ability to write, speak and present effectively and persuasively
• Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and projects in a dynamic, fast paced environment. Flexibility and adaptability are key. Detail-oriented and organized
