Summary: We are seeking a seasoned IT Storage Engineer with strong experience in Block and File Storage technologies to support our mission-critical healthcare systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise with IBM FlashSystem, NetApp, Dell EMC, Pure Storage Products and Brocade, Cisco SAN Switches. This role is vital to ensuring the performance, availability, and security of storage systems that support patient care. Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain enterprise storage infrastructure supporting Electronic Health Records (EHR), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), PACS, and other healthcare applications.
- Manage and optimize IBM, NetApp, Dell EMC and Pure Storage environments for high availability and performance.
- Configure and troubleshoot Brocade and Cisco SAN Directors/Switches, including zoning, fabric management, and diagnostics.
- Provision and map LUNs to physical and virtual hosts within enterprise SAN environments.
- Oversee NAS storage operations, including NFS/SMB shares, quotas, access controls, and integration with healthcare systems.
- Collaborate with clinical application teams, server, database and network administrators to support storage needs across the healthcare enterprise.
- Implement storage replication, snapshots, and backup integration.
- Monitor and analyze storage system performance metrics to proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
- Provide on-call support and respond to storage-related incidents.
- Engage in change management processes/procedures to ensure smooth implementation of system updates and enhancements.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise storage administration, preferably in a healthcare environment.
- Proven expertise with: IBM FlashSystem, NetApp Clustered ONTAP, Pure Storage FlashArray, Dell EMC Isilon Storage Systems and Brocade and Cisco SAN Directors/Switches.
- Strong understanding of NAS protocols (NFS, SMB/CIFS) and file storage management.
- Experience with storage replication, snapshots, and backup integration.
- In-depth understanding of storage subsystems and their underlying architecture.
- Demonstrated ability to perform performance tuning and optimization of storage systems to meet application and clinical workload demands.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting EHR systems.
- Certifications in IBM, NetApp, Dell EMC or Pure Storage technologies.
- Knowledge of VMware, Windows, AIX and Linux environments.
- Knowledge of Dell EMC Avamar, Data Domain and IBM Defender Data Protection Platforms.
