Summary

In partnership with the Project Manager, this position is responsible for leading, managing, and monitoring the quality system on projects. This position ensures processes are documented and followed; manages, monitors, reports, and analyzes project quality performance and leads corrective/preventive actions. This includes overseeing all construction management and technical aspects, as well as communicating quality-related issues to ensure adherence to company standards and project-specific contractual requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Lead constructability reviews, quality review of design documents, shop drawing, review, and submittal review for all scopes of work.
  • Ensure testing is performed and QC certifications and documentation is provided
  • Serve as a technical resource and guide for project team staff.
  • Plan, develop, and implement the Quality Management Plan and system for all divisions of work on one or more medium to large sized project from notice to proceed through commissioning and final acceptance by the customer.
  • Manage and attend meetings including Partnering, Coordination and Mutual Understanding Meeting (CMUM) and regular QC Meetings.
  • Establish and lead project quality control initiatives, activities (3-Phase Inspection Process) and corrective actions. Manage issues without guidance from the Project Manager or Superintendent. Partner with PM, superintendent, and project team staff to resolve issues
  • Ensure processes are documented and followed, managing, monitoring, reporting, and analyzing project quality performance and leading corrective/preventive actions.
  • Execute the project by ensuring all work meets quality standards and is performed in compliance with all contract and permit requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Manson's Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct.
  • Maintain a high standard of ethical behavior, encourages ethical behavior in others, supports ethical decisions and actively seeks appropriate resolution to potential ethical conflicts.
  • Responsible for practicing safe work standards and promoting an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) work environment as a condition of employment.


Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities desired in candidates.



  • B.S. degree in a technical area of study, typically Civil Engineering, Coastal Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or Construction Management
  • Minimum of 10 years of construction experience within marine construction or heavy civil engineering.
  • Recent experience as a QC Manager on NAVFAC construction projects preferred.
  • Valid US Drivers License required.

Main office in the Eastern United States is in Jacksonville, FL. Projects tend to be in the Gulf and East Coast region, but can range from Brownsville, Texas to Baltimore, Maryland.

Physical Demands

Position is primarily a field position, and will require travel, including visits and monitoring of construction job sites. Employees must be able to wear the personal protective equipment (PPE) required of various construction work environments (hard hats, personal floatation devices, safety glasses, gloves, safety-toed shoes, respirators, etc.

The employee is required to stand, walk, use stairs, ladders, and step stools and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and may occasionally lift and/or up to 50 pounds. Must be able to navigate stairs, ladders and gangways, board, work on and disembark floating vessels and structures. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud. The employee may be required to sit for extended periods of time.
