You'll be instrumental in building trust, processing critical transactions, and guiding members through our services, contributing significantly to both individual member satisfaction and the overall success of our operations. Your contributions will directly enhance our reputation for outstanding service and efficiency. **Key Responsibilities:** * Greet and welcome members with a professional and courteous demeanor, ensuring prompt, accurate, and efficient transactions.
* Process deposits for accounts, verifying amounts, examining checks for proper endorsement, and accurately entering transactions into computer records.
* Cash checks and process withdrawals, meticulously verifying signatures and member balances before disbursing funds.
* Proactively promote and explain additional financial services, including consumer and mortgage loans, retirement accounts, certificates, and money orders, to meet member needs.
* Receive and process loan and other payments, ensuring alignment with balances due, entering payments into the system, and generating member receipts.
* Place appropriate holds on accounts for uncollected funds in accordance with established procedures.
* Process mobile deposit submissions, applying proper extended holds when necessary.
* Accurately count, check, and package coins and currency.
* Balance cash drawer at the end of each shift, comparing totals to computer-generated proof sheets and reporting any discrepancies to management.
* Maintain a properly stocked teller station with necessary forms and supplies.
* Report any malfunctions of teller terminals or other equipment promptly.
* Check night depository bags and accurately record information on the institution's forms.
* Review and process member contact information on accounts according to established procedures.
* Ensure strict compliance with all policies, procedures, rules, and regulations, including those related to financial security and asset controls. **Must-Have Qualifications:** * Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a financial institution (credit union or bank) in a member-facing transactional role.
* Proven experience in cash handling, demonstrating accuracy and reliability.
* Strong ability to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision, and effectively collaborate as part of a team.
* Excellent ability to read and execute written instructions, and follow oral instructions accurately.
* Clear and articulate communication skills, capable of delivering information in a logical and understandable sequence.
* Proficiency in basic math skills and accurate spelling, equivalent to a high school graduate level.
* Demonstrated ability to interact calmly and professionally with diverse personalities and cultures, upholding the highest levels of customer service and discretion.
* Capacity to perform responsibilities with composure under pressure, meeting deadlines, and maintaining extreme accuracy and quality in a fast-paced environment.
* Adept at managing multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities effectively.
* Capable of exercising the highest level of discretion regarding confidential matters, both internal and external. **Nice-to-Have Qualifications:** * Experience with modern cash management technology, such as automated cash recyclers.
