What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Sr. Test Engineer to contribute to the continuous improvement of Manufacturing Test Equipment for the Global Service Manufacturing team. They will aid in designing, developing, and optimizing test equipment for Tesla's Battery, Drive Unit, Charger, and Power Electronics lines across several vehicle models. Additionalresponsibilities include supporting equipment debugging tasks and continuous improvement of legacy test and automation equipment. What You'll Do
- Participate in initial equipment conceptual development and carefully balance product specifications, process requirements, layout complexity, cost, and lead-time limits
- Define most efficient plan for testing, automating and improving focusing on time/cost reduction and low complexity to promptly release new automation and test equipment
- Interact with various design, manufacturing, and firmware teams throughout project
- Generate aesthetically simple GUI screens for complex test and automation machinery while providing sufficient feedback for troubleshooting
- Establish great working relationships with vendors and managing their deliverables
- Continually design and implement improvements to released equipment
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Software Engineering or equivalent experience
- At least 5 years of relevant industry experience
- Industry Experience developing with NI LabView and TestStand a must
- Experience working with CAN and XNET a plus
- Exposure to additional programming languages is a plus (Python, C#, C++, Java, etc.)
- Familiarity with electronic circuits. Experience with high voltage environments is preferred but not required
- Ability to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
- Exposure to a wide variety of test and automation systems, production machinery, industrial sensors, data acquisition and I/O devices (ie, pogo-pins, pressure transducers, temperature controllers, current and power meters, PLCs, etc.)
- Solid understanding of software and programming best practices

Expected Compensation
- Test Engineer - $93,600 - $140,400/annual salary
- Sr Test Engineer - $104,400 - $156,600/annual salary
+ cash and stock awards + benefits for all levels
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
