Your Job

As an Electromechanical Engineer at Chentronics in Norwich, NY, you will design, build, and iterate mechanical prototypes, fixtures, and enclosures for ignition and flame-detection systems, integrating PCBs, sensors, and electro-mechanical components. You will develop burner test setups, create CAD models and drawings, and use rapid prototyping techniques like 3D printing and machining. Working closely with electrical, firmware, and manufacturing teams, you'll turn early-stage concepts into functional prototypes that drive innovation.

What You Will Do

  • Design, build, and iterate mechanical prototypes, fixtures, and enclosures for ignition and flame-detection systems.
  • Integrate PCBs, sensors, and electro-mechanical components into functional assemblies for testing.
  • Develop and maintain burner test setups to validate product performance under real-world conditions.
  • Create detailed CAD models and drawings for prototypes, plastic, and metal components.
  • Use rapid prototyping techniques including 3D printing, machining, and sheet metal fabrication.
  • Collaborate closely with electrical, firmware, and manufacturing teams to bring early-stage concepts to functional prototypes.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Experience in mechanical design, prototyping, or R&D hardware development.
  • Experience designing and building mechanical fixtures, mounts, and assemblies

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience with rapid prototyping methods (3D printing, machining)
  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Fusion 360 or Altium

For this role, we anticipate paying $80,000 - $100,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
