Responsibilities include the construction and assembly of DUNE's LAr purity-monitoring system, DUNE cold-electronics testing and assembly, as well as R&D for future neutrino detectors. Experience with LArTPC technology and SiPM-based detectors is preferred. Bian's group is a leading AI/ML developer within the DUNE and NOvA collaborations, with ongoing projects such as transformer-based reconstruction, large-language-model development, and HPC-parallelized inference. The candidate will have significant opportunities to contribute to these AI/ML efforts as part of the group's research program. The candidate is also expected to contribute to the analysis of early DUNE data and the full data-set analysis of the NOvA experiment. The position requires the ability to travel to Fermilab, CERN, and SURF. We are seeking candidates with a Ph.D. in experimental particle physics and demonstrated skills in both hardware and software/analysis.
