Job Description

The University of Missouri Department of Athletics is seeking a Senior Associate Athletics Director of Development that will serve as the Executive Director of the Mizzou Athletics Fund.

Reporting to the Executive Athletics Director, Chief Revenue Officer, the Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Development, Executive Director of the Mizzou Athletics Fund will provide senior level oversight, coordination, and integration of the Mizzou Athletic Fund to include annual fund giving, parking, major giving, and overall fundraising activity.

Key Responsibilities will include:

Development Leadership:

Providing daily oversight and leadership to a team of gift officers and support staff.

Working collaboratively with the Mizzou Athletic Fund staff to create and manage a comprehensive fundraising plan and schedule for the annual fund, including:

  • Setting dollar, participation, and quantitative goals for the annual fund giving program.
  • Creating and implementing strategies to achieve Annual Fund goals.
  • Creating and managing a schedule of multidimensional appeals that leverages a variety of media (e.g., electronic solicitation, direct mail appeals, face-to-face solicitations, and events) to communicate with potential and current donors.
  • Spearheading special fundraisers and events to raise awareness and funds.
  • Analyzing results of the fund by tracking progress from year to year and generate reports.

Providing oversight and management of both the letterwinners program as well as the department's automobile program.

Major Gifts:
Developing and implementing a comprehensive major gifts program to support Athletics at the University, including strategies for identifying, qualifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gift prospects.

Overseeing and tracking gift officer productivity related to premium sales and philanthropy.

Maintaining a portfolio of 100 prospects with typical solicitation ranges of mid six- to seven-figure gifts.

Developing a best-in-class leadership giving society and soliciting donors for the society.

Working alongside the Executive Athletics Director, Chief Revenue Officer to establish a plan with specific goals and timetables to raise major and planned gifts within the scope of special projects, campaigns, endowment or annual fundraising needs.

Shift

Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm; Nights and Weekends, as required by events

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in related/ relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 6 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Display a track record of securing and executing high-profile gifts.

Strong understanding of premium seating operations and donor relations.

Strong organizational and project management skills.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary is commensurate with experience.
