Position Purpose







This position is responsible for ensuring the procurement activity of Renown Health is meeting organizational requirements of both Supply Chain and Finance Departments, as well as complying with our external vendors expectations. The incumbent will have a more direct role with vendor relations as it applies to items/services that are provided to the organization. The incumbent will need to be able to collaborate with both the vendor and accounts payable to resolve any financial related issues resulting from procurement activity. The incumbent will need to have knowledge and experience in Renown's ERP to provide procurement data to comply with various request. The incumbent will also need to collaborate with the Associate Buyer on issues that are escalated due to complexity or unfamiliarity to resolve the issue while educating the team member.





















Nature and Scope







This position is challenged to meet the needs of customers while ensuring that the Purchasing and finance procedures remain within established policy. Determines and obtains the best price commensurate with quality, production, and delivery. Performs product research, vendor sourcing, and determines appropriate methods of procurement or contracting to fit the needs of the customer/user.

This position uses an automated Material Management Information System (MMIS) extensively, coordinating the MMIS functions with customer/user departments.

This position is responsible to ensure product is delivered in an acceptable time and to follow up on open purchase orders. This position has the authority to select vendor sources, solicit offers, evaluate offers, negotiate pricing and prioritize own workload.

The position is expected to know Renown Health Purchasing Practice standards and relay them to user departments (i.e., equipment, furniture, products, contracts, etc.).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

* Knowledge of Uniform Commercial Code.

* Knowledge of Contract Law.

* Knowledge of financial and accounting concepts and terms.

* Excellent oral and written communication skills.

* Ability to use calculator, computer keyboard and other office equipment.

* Displays a high level of initiative, effort and commitment towards completing assignments efficiently.

Strong attention to detail

Well-developed problem solving and time management skills

Flexible and able to adapt to shifting priorities, cross training to multiple functions within the Purchasing Team

Education:



Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Bachelor's degree preferred. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required



Experience:



Minimum 3-5 years' experience in Supply Chain Operations required. 2 additional years prior experience in healthcare purchasing or proof of enrollment in Bachelor's degree program may be considered for minimum experience and education. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in a Healthcare setting, knowledge of medical products, and/or project planning experience.

Computer / Typing:



Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
