This position is challenged to meet the needs of customers while ensuring that the Purchasing and finance procedures remain within established policy. Determines and obtains the best price commensurate with quality, production, and delivery. Performs product research, vendor sourcing, and determines appropriate methods of procurement or contracting to fit the needs of the customer/user. This position uses an automated Material Management Information System (MMIS) extensively, coordinating the MMIS functions with customer/user departments. This position is responsible to ensure product is delivered in an acceptable time and to follow up on open purchase orders. This position has the authority to select vendor sources, solicit offers, evaluate offers, negotiate pricing and prioritize own workload. The position is expected to know Renown Health Purchasing Practice standards and relay them to user departments (i.e., equipment, furniture, products, contracts, etc.). KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: * Knowledge of Uniform Commercial Code. * Knowledge of Contract Law. * Knowledge of financial and accounting concepts and terms. * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Ability to use calculator, computer keyboard and other office equipment. * Displays a high level of initiative, effort and commitment towards completing assignments efficiently.
