Warehouse Yard Spotter

We are currently looking for a Yard Spotter to work in our Regional Service Center (RSC) located in Chino, CA. This role will work in partnership with the warehouse operations team to help safely and efficiently execute all needed trailer movements within the building's premises.

What you'll do:

• Safely move, spot, and stage trailers within the yard and perimeter of the building using a yard truck/spotter.
• Perform trailer inspections and ensure equipment is in safe working condition.
• Coordinate with dispatch, warehouse, and dock teams regarding trailer movements and priorities.
• Maintain accurate yard inventory and update trailer logs as needed.
• Secure loads, chock wheels, back trailers into dock doors as instructed.
• Follow all company safety procedures and DOT regulations.
• Assist with minor equipment troubleshooting or reporting maintenance needs.

• Understand computerized systems associated with both the Inbound and Outbound processes.
• Be flexible and willing to adapt to change; be comfortable working in the constantly changing environment.

• The Yard Spotter will maintain the safety protocols of the truck yard for all Inbound, Outbound and Will Call carriers. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and computer skills.
• Work with warehouse operations team to check in and check out all Inbound, Outbound and Will Call carriers.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you'll bring:

• 1-3 Years in Yard Spotter role and truck yard environment.

• Experience with Inbound, Outbound and Will Call carrier check in processes.
• High School education or GED.
• Efficient and safe use of PIT equipment is required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
• High attention to truck yard safety protocols.
• Have a high standard for driver safety, truck yard traffic flow control.
• Must be a self-starter.
• Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment, comfortable with multiple competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events in a calm and logical manner.
• Must possess a positive attitude, be a team player, and have a strong work ethic.

Within 3 months, you'll:

• You will be immersed and understand the Atkore safety culture and Values.
• You will have completed any required trainings.

• Be well-versed in Atkore's Business System and the importance of your role to daily operations.
