Job Family Description

Material management involves the strategic planning, procurement, storage/inventory, and distribution of materials, supplies and products essential for the organization's operations. Material management personnel are responsible for the flow of supplies and products within the organization, and to/from external locations as appropriate.

Discipline Description

Material managers administer and operate the organization's warehouses, including processing, packaging and storage of supplies, materials, and equipment. They coordinate inbound and outbound logistical operations, including inventory management, warehousing, and transportation to ensure timely supply of goods and products. They perform receipt verifications and manage warehouse storage with consideration for compatibility/shelf life/hazards, transport materials in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. They use business analytics to promote productivity, support continuous improvement initiatives, and produce required reporting. They prepare and coordinate schedules for shipping and receiving materials to control the flow of goods and regulate warehouse space, and they establish and implement warehouse operating procedures, maximizing space utilization, and supporting maintenance and protection of facilities and equipment.

Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include:

Provide overall direction and oversight of multi-layer supply chain warehouse facilities and logistic operation ensuring compliance with the safety envelope, required laws, regulations, and DOE Orders.

Provides leadership for a multi-layer organization to promote efficient and cost-effective receipt and movement of goods from suppliers to customers, optimizing logistics processes, and maintaining high levels of service quality for multi-tenant site operations.

Serve as primary operations interface for scope determination and provides strategic direction, establishes daily priorities, and ensures integration for all functional areas including operations, maintenance, engineering, RCO, Waste Management, and other supporting organizations for warehouse facilities. Responsible for ensuring safety management from the design basis to the operational facility at the task level is integrated in execution of work. Manages the overall operational improvement programs for Supply Chain facilities, reporting status and implementing corrective actions for programmatic deficiencies and findings from external assessment activities. Establishes long term strategies and plans for resource allocation, warehouse modifications/utilization, and facility operations. Provides support to the Supply Chain Senior Director, as necessary, specifically including management and leadership for the development, coordination, implementation, and oversight of organizational programs.

Key Responsibilities:
*Develop and implement long-term strategies for the supply chain logistics department and facility operations to align with company goals.
*Oversee the end-to-end logistics process, including acquisition, inventory management, warehousing, transportation, and distribution.
*Lead and mentor a multi-layer logistics team to ensure operational excellence and continuous improvement.
*Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate logistics strategies with overall business objectives.
*Drive initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize delivery times.
*Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, carriers, and other key stakeholders.
*Monitor logistics performance metrics and implement data-driven solutions to address issues and improve processes.
*Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards.
*Provide oversight of budgets for facility maintenance and improvement projects and logistics operations operating costs.

Required Qualifications

* Fifteen or more YOE as an individual contributor in one or more of the roles managed plus six or more years of experience (YOE) in a relevant management role, OR Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field plus twelve or more years of experience (YOE) in one or more of the roles managed, OR Master's Degree in a relevant field plus eight or more years of experience (YOE) in one or more of the roles managed
* Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered

Extensive leadership experience is required with significant experience overseeing a multi-disciplined workforce within a warehouse operation.

Demonstrated accomplishment in optimizing performance of warehouse facilities and distribution processes.

Demonstrated ability and vision to establish and leverage KPIs to drive organizational performance and implement strategic initiatives.

Comprehensive knowledge of Department of Transportation Regulations, NQA-1 Nuclear Facility Quality Assurance Requirements, and Chemical Warehouse Storage requirements.

Demonstrated experience / aptitude to evaluate operations, organize resources, conduct/apply formal issue evaluations and lessons learned to set a vision for performance excellence.

Demonstrated ability to evaluate/establish/prioritize multi-facility and multi-year budget plans and oversight. Driving organizational accountability to established budget and schedules to support out year planning.

Demonstrated experience in leading multi-layer government warehousing organizations and experience in budget management, resource allocation, and implementation of operational efficiencies across the multiple layers of the organization.

Experience with corporate enterprise business systems such as Oracle, PeopleSoft SAP, etc.

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
