Summary/Objective:

Responsible for scheduling department work ensuring production receives and consumes the correct material. Provides schedule to yard leader for delivery of parts to production in a timely manner. Maintain ERP accuracy for consumption and processes within materials department, including remaining consumption, error log, bill of material changes, work fills, and shortages.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  1. Participates in all warehouse functions and observes all safety requirements.
  2. Responsible for the materials team continuous improvement and professional development.
  3. Assign tasks as required to maintain a safe work environment for team members.

  1. Starting RPO's to create pick work for material handler 1 and correlating all paperwork.
  2. Monitoring All open work to ensure it is closed accurately and in a timely manner.
  3. Reviewing remaining consumption and clearing daily.
  4. Assisting with bill of material changes and subs for production.
  5. Communicate all the material shortages to the production and purchasing teams, monitor that all material consumed correctly in the system.
  6. Start work and enter the pick dates based on production schedule, update RPOs when engineering or customer changes occur, and part work cancellation when needed.
  7. Communicate effectively with quality, engineering, production, and management about material shortages. Monitor the consumption of material through the ERP system and ensure it is accurate.
  8. Keep track of the shortages and make sure that all the material moved to the production lines is correct and consumed correctly.
  9. Generate paper picks when material added late in the day or equipment not functioning correctly.
  10. Complete team member evaluations and corrective actions, approve or deny requests for time off if there are team members reporting to you.
  11. Monitor and release work for part call requests from production lines.
  12. Monitor and release work for shortages using release to warehouse report.
  13. Monitor and release all work fills for the material handlers.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily working indoors, office environment.
  • May sit or stand for several hours at a time.
  • May be on the floor/in the work, could be exposed to elements (heat, snow, etc.)
  • Prolonged exposure to computer screens.
  • Repetitive use of hands to operate computers, printers, and copiers.

Qualifications:

  1. High school degree or GED (not necessary).
  2. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  3. Microsoft Office Skills

  2. Must be able to maintain error log and remaining consumption daily.
  3. Must be able to ensure that material is delivered on time to production.
  4. Must be able to create processes that support management goals and increase productivity.

  6. Must be able to read and process written communication including, but not limited to measurements, directions, instructions, etc.
  7. Must be able to help production meet goals and time deadlines for company projects.
  8. Must have the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other team members of the organization.
  9. Must be able to work with minimum supervision.
  10. Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and convert in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  11. Must possess successful problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  12. Must have the ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  13. Must be able to exhibit tact and diplomacy and maintain professional relationships with leaders, fellow team members, customers, etc.
  14. Must be able to work under physically and mentally stressful situations.
  15. Must be able to prioritize and easily adapt to changes throughout the day.
  16. Must have the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring.

Physical Demands:
While performing duties of the job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active - while performing this job the team member is regularly standing walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, balancing, reaching, handling, and climbing all day. The team member may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations considered for individuals with disabilities to enable them to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the team member works around moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment, and conveyer roller lines. The team member will work in outside weather conditions in all seasons. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

In addition, the team may be exposed to dust, fumes, gases, noise, heat, cold, and wet work while performing job duties.

This position requires Personal Protective Equipment such as work gloves, safety glasses, ear plugs, cut resistant sleeves, and seasonal gear which will be provided.

Additional items required but not included are steel toed shoes or boots with metatarsal guards

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time hourly position, and hours of work and days are based upon the need to support operations and production. Some Saturdays will be mandatory.

Travel:

There is no travel required for this position.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  1. 1-3 years of inventory control experience.
  2. 3-5 years of supervisor/management experience.
  3. At least 1 year of inventory control experience.
