In the absence of the Shift Maintenance Supervisor, coordinates the activities of the Maintenance crew on shift and works with them to maintain the company facilities and equipment. The Lead is responsible for the execution of all assignments from the maintenance department, which entails both scheduled and unscheduled work. This position requires efficient deployment of labor, the proper utilization of materials and the ability to understand customers' needs. Provides technical trouble-shooting expertise and skills.

Responsibilities



  • Works as an active member of the shift team performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Maintains detailed records of completed repairs, rebuilds and line inspections
  • Manages contractor work as required and as assigned.
  • Communicates with team regarding performance standards and expectations.
  • Coordinates, monitors and utilizes the Computerized Maintenance Management system (CMMS).
  • Performs root cause analysis of mechanical downtime and recommend changes.
  • May conduct preventive maintenance (PM) and work order audits.
  • Coordinates daily work orders and projects as they occur across shifts.
  • Maintains plant facilities and grounds in accordance with relevant regulations, company and regulatory standards and fiscal consideration.
  • Keeps abreast of latest manufacturing technologies and systems and engineering concepts to continually improve plant performance.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Works to maintain and improve on the quality, legality and safety of each product and the processes used in their manufacture. Responsible for keeping assigned work area clean and tidy at all times and reporting any potential contamination and suspicious activity to a Supervisor immediately.

Education, Technical Qualifications, Experience and Competencies Proficiency Level

Required



  • High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required.
  • Math Ability - Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to interpret graphs and diagrams preferred.
  • Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Experience working in a maintenance department, preferably in an automated food processing plant.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, operating manuals and maintenance instructions to complete machine rebuilds and repairs. Ability to complete forms detailing maintenance work performed.
  • Oral Communication - Listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; participates in meetings.Knowledge of preventative maintenance software preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft office software is required.

  • Depending on location, may require various licenses by local, county, state or federal agencies. This position requires a valid driver's license.



Shift: 1st

Hourly Pay Range: $42 - $43

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed In this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
