Responsibilities
The Clinical Value Analysis Mgr plays a critical role in driving clinical and operational efficiency by leading strategic value analysis initiatives aimed at delivering cost-effective, quality-centered care. The role requires advanced project management skills, including strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and process improvement, to evaluate and implement solutions that enhance patient outcomes while aligning with organizational financial goals. The Clinical Value Analysis Mgr oversees complex processes such as backorder management and clinical equivalent substitutions, leveraging data analysis and risk assessment to ensure continuity of care. The Clinical Value Analysis Mgr is the primary resource for product and service-related inquiries across the system, this position demands strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities to support system-wide objectives; responsible for leading efforts to engage clinicians, reducing variation in clinical practices, products, devices, and supplies to improve quality, efficiency, and standardization, driving the value analysis process across multiple committees, including the Clinical Value Analysis Committee, System Integration Councils, and Supply Stewardship Councils. The Clinical Value Analysis Mgr employs change management strategies, fosters collaboration among cross-functional teams, and coordinates closely with health system leadership to implement initiatives that standardize processes, streamline operations, and achieve measurable outcomes. Key Responsibilitites:
Integrates clinical expertise with advanced project management skills to ensure product evaluations align with clinical needs, best practices, and organizational objectives. Leverages operational knowledge and strategic planning capabilities; effectively balances stakeholder management, risk assessment, and process mapping, in order to be a critical liaison between frontline clinicians and administrative leadership. Utilizes a combination of clinical and operational knowledge, coupled with expertise in change management and workflow optimization to bridge gaps, resolve conflicts, and foster collaboration across diverse teams to ensure the success of value analysis initiatives. Drives initiatives that enhance patient care quality, safety, and operational efficiency. Leads cross-functional teams in the evaluation and implementation of evidence-based practices, clinical protocols, and process improvements to optimize outcomes and resource utilization. Identifies areas for improvement and manages projects from conception through execution, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Acts as a key liaison between clinical departments, administrative leadership, and quality teams. Fosters collaboration, monitors progress, and delivers measurable results that advance overall clinical effectiveness and patient-centered care. Leverages advanced project management and analytical skills to ensure data-driven, evidence-based decision-making; this includes analyzing product performance metrics, cost data, and utilization trends to identify improvement opportunities. Utilizes methodologies such as root cause analysis, trend forecasting, and performance benchmarking, to ensure actionable data informs strategic decisions. Oversees the development of metrics to track project progress, facilitates risk mitigation, and evaluates the impact of implemented solutions on clinical, operational, and financial outcomes. Employs advanced project management techniques to facilitate cross-functional meetings, ensuring all stakeholders have a platform to provide input, address concerns, and collaboratively build consensus on product decisions. Translates complex value analysis findings into clear, actionable insights. Manages stakeholder expectations, identifies key priorities, and establishes transparent communication channels to maintain alignment with organizational objectives. Fosters productive vendor relationships by employing negotiation, contract management, and performance monitoring strategies to ensure transparency and alignment with system-wide goals. Identifies and leads cost-saving opportunities amongst our value analysis team. Leads our value analysis team to identify spending patterns, evaluate product utilization, and lead initiatives such as product standardization, contract optimization, and waste reduction. Uses a data-driven approach to manage savings outcomes related to budgeting and forecasting processes and integrate cost-saving strategies into the organization's broader financial objectives to drive sustainable, value-based outcomes.
Qualifications
Required:
- Three years direct patient care experience
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing
- Registered Nurse (RN)
Desired:
- Three years nursing leadership, preferably critical care or surgical services; clinical value analysis, and supply chain management.
- Master Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Management or Business Administration
- Certified Value Analysis Healthcare Professional (CHVAP); Certified Green or Black Belt
