Overall Summary

As Sr. Program Manager, you will be responsible for achieving successful implementation of strategic product development programs from ideation through commercialization and product rationalization, working closely with R&D, Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality and Regulatory Affairs. You will bring a clear sense of urgency and demonstrate a proven track record of driving innovation, leading to the introduction of new technologies to the marketplace. You will be a key facilitator in the new product introduction process including chairing meetings and tracking progress. You will have responsibility for leading programs, leading portions of programs or providing program/project management structure to core team leads.

As Sr. Program Manager, you will lead and direct day to day activities for core team members through managing project plans, issues tracking, and accountability for deliverables across multiple functional organizations. This role will also manage one or more product development, manufacturing transfer, product rationalization and/or special project programs, typically from inception to implementation, and establish program objectives, timelines, milestones, and budgets in addition to managing individuals who facilitate process change control and maintaining master data that support the product lifecycle.

You will also take on organizing and leading programs that may be outside of the scope of new product development but related to product support such as sustaining programs and product end of life programs.

Your duties will include:



  • This role is responsible for managing/supporting and facilitating viability to new product introductions, manufacturing transfers, and product phase-out projects as well as developing/monitoring the processes utilized for those types of projects.
  • This role is responsible for Industrial Engineering support for the business, which includes facilitating/managing process change control and product master data as well as managing the individual(s) who are in those roles within the ERP and PLM systems.
  • This role is responsible for providing project management support across the business, as assigned.
  • This role is responsible for the planning of project activities along with aligning, synchronizing, and driving the team's efforts towards achieving the goal of completing the projects to support business strategy and company performance objectives.
  • This role will partner with teams from procurement, planning, distribution, manufacturing, engineering, regulatory, quality, packaging, etc. to maintain alignment across all functions in driving results and deliverables for each project.



Technical Responsibilities



  • Program manager for complex orthopedic reconstruction implantable devices and instruments.
  • Collaborates and communicates with key project sponsors and stakeholders to ensure the end products and processes will solve the business need.


  • Direct responsibility for tactical project execution by leading cross-functional new product development teams to ensure key focus products are launched on time and meet established goals and objectives that support the financial and competitive goals of the organization.


  • Develops and maintains detailed project schedules and budgets for assigned projects.


  • Ensures that cross-functional resources are assigned and held accountable for task and outcome completion.


  • Leads and conducts Phase Review Meeting, Design Review Meetings, Systems Requirements Meetings, Vendor Review Meetings, and other cross functional meetings, as needed. Documents the proceedings and follows up on any incomplete action items.


  • Provides direct and regular communication reports to management on project status relative to the schedule and budget, risks, opportunities, and issues.
  • Provides feedback to functional department heads during AOP, strategic planning process and the performance management process.


  • Fosters an environment of collaboration, continuous improvement, and best practices within project team and between project team and other groups.

Technical skill requirements include:



  • Working knowledge of GMP regulations and familiarity of manufacturing processes
  • Experience with metal manufacturing processes (CNC, castings, etc.), robotics, metal finishing, chemical finishing, packaging, and assembly
  • Knowledge of Lean Principles and Philosophies as presented at MicroPort Orthopedics
  • Ability to lead project teams through various project assignments


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: What you will need (must have):



  • Proficiency utilizing the MS Office Suite (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, SharePoint).
  • Problem-solving ability with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated success in working independently, providing multiple solutions to problems and effectively integrating systems.
  • Well organized, self-motivated, upbeat, creative, and resourceful.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, management, and collaboration qualities.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: What you will need (strongly desired):



  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)



YOUR EDUCATION

Required: BS degree in Engineering or equivalent in related discipline

Preferred: MBA and/or MS

YOUR EXPERIENCE

Minimum 8 years project management experience involving multi-disciplinary teams in a medical device environment, including experience in new product development device, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
