Senior Analyst - Government Compliance, Risk & Finance Projects

MRIGlobal is seeking a highly motivated person to join our Finance team, preferably in Kansas City, MO or Gaithersburg, MD but remote options will be considered. The successful candidate will join the MRIGlobal Finance team in pursuit of our mission to improve the lives of people through innovative scientific and engineering research. Our services aid public health and the safety and security of first responders and warfighters.


Principal Accountabilities and Success Factors

This position reports to the Director -Accounting/Controller and is ideal for a finance professional who excels at navigating federal regulations, supporting governance, risk and assurance activities, and driving process improvements. This position interacts and works closely with staff across organizational lines and exhibits the highest degree of professionalism and sensitivity with all subject matters.



Duties include:



  • Ensure organizational compliance with FAR/DFARS, CAS, and Uniform Guidance requirements including monitoring changes, interpreting regulations, and advising internal stakeholders.
  • Support the development of indirect rate structures, cost allocation methodologies, and preparation of annual incurred cost submission in alignment with government contracting standards.
  • Lead planning, execution, and follow-up for internal audit, compliance-related risk reviews and preparing for and responding to DCAA/DCMA audits, and internal reviews by coordinating documentation, data analysis, and corrective action planning.
  • Support financial systems and process improvements projects.
  • Contribute to the creation, maintenance, and refinement of finance and compliance related policies, procedures, guidance documents, and process documentation.
  • Develop and deliver training on accounting policies and compliance requirements.
  • Evaluate, document, and improve internal controls to reduce compliance risk, enhance data integrity, and support corporate governance standards.



Qualifications

  • B.S. in Accounting, Finance or related field with 10+ years of progressive experience in government contracting of federally funded environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, CAS and Uniform Guidance
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint, including project setup, billing, reporting, or system configuration.
  • Demonstrated experience in system implementation, compliance initiatives, or process improvement projects.

  • Advanced Excel skills and strong financial analysis capabilities
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to deliver training and lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities with a compliance-driven mindset.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to interpret and apply complex federal regulations.
  • Effective communicator who can bridge technical accounting considerations with operational needs.
  • Self-starter capable of balancing hands-on analytical work with broader project leadership.


Pay Range - $124,600 - $155,750


The salary range is intended as a general guideline and is not a guaranteed offer, as compensation depends on various factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate qualifications, experience, internal equity, and market conditions.
