What to Expect The GFNY team is looking for a skilled Procurement Specialist to execute Tesla's infrastructure development sourcing strategy. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of construction suppliers, subcontractors, manufacturers, and contractors, with a strong background in negotiation, strategic sourcing, and procurement. This role demands the ability to develop and implement cost-effective sourcing strategies for industrial, manufacturing, distribution, and mission-critical construction projects. The successful candidate will excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, balancing strategic planning with hands-on operational execution. What You'll Do Actively lower costs by sourcing and onboardingadditionalvendors into the procurement system, negotiating pricing agreements, and working directly with vendors to reduce expenses Collaborate with Infrastructure and Workplace Teams to assess purchase order (PO) needs, draft POs, track deliveries, and resolveinvoicesor supplier issues efficiently Manage facilities and construction spares andcommodities ofstock, ensuringoptimalinventory levels and cost efficiency Lead sourcing efforts for electrical, mechanical, janitorial, and construction commodities, including facilities and construction services, whilemaintainingsupplier relationships Conduct market research and spend analysis to develop informed sourcing strategies, pre-qualify suppliers, and negotiate cost reduction opportunities Implement global/regional agreements toconsolidatesuppliers, analyze historical and projected spend, andoptimizecontracts for cost-effective pricing Drive cost-saving initiatives through benchmarking, competitive quoting, and "Lean" practices, while supporting purchase order reconciliation and resolving commercial issues with vendors What You'll Bring 5+ years of experience inpurchasingand project management for Civil, Structural, Architectural, and MEP in industrial, manufacturing, distribution, or mission-critical construction projects Advancedproficiencyin Microsoft Excel, Word, Bluebeam, and Acrobat, with strong analytical and decision-making skills Expertisein strategic sourcing, opportunity analysis, contract negotiations, and managing various contract types (Lump Sum, GMP, Cost-plus, T&M) Proven ability toidentifycost drivers, resolve supplier or business process issues, and drive continuous improvement Strong organizational skills to manage detailed transactions, track progress, and handle multiple tasks independently Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders in a fast-paced environment Experience in building andmaintainingsupplier relationships to ensure operational efficiency and cost savings Compensation and Benefits Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Aetna PPO and HSA plans > 2 medical plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Account) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High Deductible Aetna medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D, short-term and long-term disability insurance Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program Expected Compensation Associate Buyer - Planner - $61,200 - $91,800/annual salary Buyer - Planner - $72,000 - $108,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits for all levels Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
