The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Department of Surgery is seeking a Research Associate to assist with aortic surgery research. The individual will develop novel aortic therapies based on clinical outcome studies and advance imaging analysis. In particular, the individual will be trained in advance in biostatistics and imaging-based blood flow analysis.

We seek a highly motivated, meticulous, and organized individual who can develop and pursue his/her own innovative ideas, while working in collaboration with other lab members and outside collaborators.

Responsibilities



  • Perform biostatistical analysis.
  • Process imaging data to perform blood flow analysis.
  • Maintaining Aortic Center database.
  • Discuss the results with the PI and other lab members.
  • Attend/present at seminars and conferences and participate in various collaborations.
  • Continuously learn and acquire new knowledge and skills for successful execution of the projects.
  • Develop innovative ideas to promote his/her own professional career.
  • Apply for grants whenever appropriate mechanisms become available.


Additional responsibilities include academic research, (participation in clinical and/or basic research) in accordance with our compliance and excellence in quality care programs, to include active participation in the education of research fellows, residents and medical students. Responsibilities include participation in the academic and research missions of the University and the Department of Surgery.

Minimum Qualifications



  • High School Degree.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree.


Other Requirements



  • Clinical experience in cardiac and aortic surgery.
  • Research experience in imaging analysis.
  • Proficient in biostatistics.
  • Ability to perform blood flow analysis with software.
