Job Summary

Manages the delivery of ambulatory patient care, which typically includes nursing, and may include laboratory, radiology, dental, etc. Facilitates the flow of patient care activities; may also participate in practice or center management operations.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $191,800 - $256,600 (Annual Rate).

Department Description

Primary Care at China Basin Berry and Waterfront clinics are dedicated to working with patients to stay healthy and being there for patients if they are sick. Our medical care team is made up of physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff including the medical assistant, licensed vocational nurse, registered nurse, and administrative support staff. Care is always available when patients have urgent problems. We are proud to offer primary care for patients across the lifespan with board certified pediatricians and family medicine physicians skilled in disease prevention, health maintenance and diagnosis and treatment of all types of medical problems from acute injuries to chronic, complex conditions.

Required Qualifications


  • Two or more years of clinical nursing supervisory and/or management experience
  • Two or more years of RN experience in an ambulatory family practice setting
  • Strong clinic / center patient care management skills.
  • Practice management knowledge in scheduling, customer-service methods, regulatory compliance, accreditation requirements, and / or information technology.
  • Broad knowledge of patient population served and the requirements for the delivery of services.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to create and maintain a climate for effective communication and collaborative decision making.
  • Strong leadership, fiscal, and operations management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, management, and staff from all disciplines.
  • Ability to create and maintain a goal-oriented climate of teamwork, collaboration, and consistent achievement of objectives.
  • Knowledge of relevant healthcare information technology and patient care workflows and processes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, as well as related legislative, accreditation, licensing, and compliance environments.
  • Proven ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, and delegate work functions efficiently.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging best practices and technologies in the clinic / center healthcare industry.

  • Nurse Practitioner
  • Master's Degree

License/Certification


  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse in the State of California and / or licensure in relevant clinical specialty.
  • Current American Heart Association CPR Certification
