Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Data Center Technician to support new installation projects within a data center environment. This role focuses on installing, testing, and certifying copper and fiber cabling infrastructure, performing rack installations, and supporting staged project deployments. The ideal candidate has hands-on data center experience, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively while maintaining safety, quality, and organizational standards. Job Responsibilities

Test and certify copper and fiber cables using industry-standard testing equipment.

Install new copper and fiber cabling, including single-mode and multi-mode fiber.

Perform fiber and copper terminations according to project specifications.

Execute proper cable dressing, labeling, and cable management practices.

Install racks, cabinets, ladder racks, fiber trays, and related infrastructure components.

Rack and stack equipment and assist with server rack build-outs.

Support project staging activities and phased deployment plans with the team.

Troubleshoot cabling and connectivity issues as needed.

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and installation documentation.

Receive materials and assemble hardware required for installation.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and supervisors.
Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED.

Minimum of 2 years of data center installation experience.

Demonstrated experience with cable testing and certification.

Experience supporting new data center installations or build-out projects.

Knowledge of fiber testing methods, including Fluke and OTDR testing.

Familiarity with common fiber connector types, including LC, SC, ST, and SC-APC.

Ability to work on ladders and scissor lifts and in confined spaces.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.

Ability to stand and perform physical tasks for the duration of the shift.

OSHA 10 certification preferred.

Required tools include basic hand tools such as screwdrivers, tape measure, snips, pliers, punch-down tool, flashlight, gloves, tool pouch, and steel-toe or composite-toe work boots.

Additional Job Details (Commute, Attendance, etc.)

This position is scheduled for second shift, Monday through Friday, from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
-
The second shift schedule is temporary and expected to continue through early February, after which the role will transition to a standard first shift schedule.
