What to Expect
As part of the Tesla Supplier Industrialization Engineering (SIE) team for Energy Mechanical parts, you will be responsible for critical component development, qualification and life cycle activities within the supply chain. This team supports mechanical parts for energy storage and charging in industrial and residential applications. The job involves communicating well with internal and external teams, traveling to suppliers in different regions and on-the-spot critical decision making. The goal: delivering on time quantities of high-quality component parts into Tesla's production processes to enable rapid development cycles, product launches and stable production.
What You'll Do

- BS Degree in Electrical / Mechanical / Industrial / Manufacturing Engineering or evidence of experience and exceptional ability
- 3+ years of experience supporting sheet metal, stamping, machining or similar mechanical fabrication processes in a Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering role. Will accept a master's degree in same fields with 1 year work experience
- Minimum 1 year experience in Quality Systems (PPAP/APQP), NPI and inspection
- 1 year experience with 3D CAD, DFM, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), statistical process control (SPC) a plus
- Ability to communicate and direct supplier activities at the management level
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, hands on and in a fast-paced environment
- Strong technical writing and discussion ability to explain complex issues in a concise and plain manner.
