SUMMARY

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating complex equipment and assisting with projects. All team members are responsible for the Safety and Quality standards that are delivered and maintained to operating standards. Operators will manufacture products by using a variety of equipment, machines, work instructions and test equipment to perform a series of operations to correctly manufacture specified parts. Once the equipment is set up the provide parts to the quality department for sign off on parts and process.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Comply with Westlake Royal Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Works with supervisors and teams to manage and prioritize work assignments/production schedules are met
  • Use basic problem-solving skills to ensure stable operation of the equipment
  • Report problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment and materials to Production Supervisor
  • Identify and support continuous improvement efforts with Production Supervisor
  • Participate as an active member of the production team and manufacture products
  • Follow documented policies and procedures as designated by the company's Quality System
  • Follow detailed manufacturing instructions, processes and procedures
  • A willingness to learn new technologies and equipment that may develop within the company
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions
  • Process treatment of materials and monitor equipment for proper operation
  • Identify the material that is recyclable to process
  • Adjust, program, calibrate, and perform preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and training or certification in relevant skill or trade
  • 1 - 2 years' experience in a relevant field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Work well with conflicting priorities and deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strategic thinker
  • Strong work ethic
  • Adapt easily to changing conditions, requirements, and environment
  • Self-directed, independent worker
  • Tactful, diplomatic, empathetic - Says the right thing, knows how to bridge gaps of understanding, and is sensitive to others
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and blueprints, procedure manuals
  • Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Ability to work with others collaboratively
  • Strong organizational skills and basic math skills
