Job Summary


The Test Technician is responsible for conducting mechanical and electrical testing to support product development, sustainment, and certification goals. This role includes assembling products and test setups, maintaining lab equipment, tracking test requests and samples, and ensuring compliance with safety and 5S initiatives. The technician will work on multiple projects simultaneously and collaborate with engineering teams to deliver accurate and timely test results.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct electrical tests in accordance with UL, CSA, IEC, and NEMA standards for electrical distribution products.
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable IEC, UL, and NEMA testing standards.
  • Record accurate test data on standardized forms for delivery to project engineers.
  • Assist in repairing and replacing test fixtures and maintain an active inventory of fixtures.
  • Organize and maintain a 5S-compliant lab environment to ensure efficiency.
  • Support development and enforcement of safety requirements.
  • Work on multiple projects concurrently to meet deadlines and improve lab efficiency.
  • Share technical knowledge with other technicians to enhance team capabilities.
  • Perform pre- and post-calibrations, dielectric and thermal testing, circuit configurations, and vibration testing.
  • Complete additional assignments or tasks as requested by management.


Job Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Associate degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Technology from an accredited institution.
  • 1-3 years of related technical experience.
  • Aptitude in electronics, mechanics, electro-mechanical systems, and software.
  • Ability to use computers for test documentation and analysis.


Education

  • Associate degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Technology required.


Work Experience

  • 1-3 years of related technical experience in testing or similar roles.


Additional Job Details

  • Must comply with all EHS requirements and support 5S initiatives.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
