As the Scientific Leader, Automation Operations you will lead a team responsible for the operation of multiple integrated automation platforms that accelerate scientific discovery. You will partner closely with research scientists, engineers, and digital automation experts to execute automated workflows. We value curious problem-solvers who balance technical depth with strong collaboration, clear communication and a focus on reliable, reproducible data. In this role you will grow your leadership skills, make a measurable impact on research productivity, and help unite science, technology and talent to get ahead of disease together.

Key Responsibilities:
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:

- Lead operations of laboratory automation systems, including hardware and software components.
- Work with scientific teams to capture requirements and translate needs into reliable automated workflows.
- Oversee system integrations to ensure data flows to laboratory information systems and analytics platforms.
- Manage partnerships and technical delivery to meet timelines and quality expectations.
- Drive intelligent utilization of automation systems and provide practical training and support to end users.
- Maintain documentation and continuous improvement plans to ensure performance, safety and compliance.

We are looking for a Scientific Leader who wants to grow through hands-on technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration. This role will require regular on-site presence at the assigned US site; the exact schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Basic Qualifications:
We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals:

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, life sciences, or a related technical field.
- 10 or more years of experience in laboratory automation, automation engineering, or related roles.
- Experience delivering automation projects in a laboratory or research environment.
- Experience with industry-standard automation scheduling software, hardware, and data platforms.
- Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary project teams.

Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

- Advanced degree in engineering, computational biology, or a related field.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to explain technical solutions to diverse audiences.
- Hands-on experience with robotics or digital orchestration.
- Familiarity with scripting or programming languages such as Python, and experience with APIs or middleware.
- Knowledge of data standards, data integrity principles and laboratory compliance requirements.
- Experience with cloud platforms and data pipeline design.
- Track record of mentoring colleagues and building inclusive, collaborative teams.
