Overview

The Opportunity:

In today's complex geopolitical environment, the United States Navy requires an increased production of Virginia-class submarines (VCS). It is essential that these submarines are manufactured at an accelerated rate of two per year. This role is a high-visibility position within Electric Boat, where the Construction Program Representative (CPR) will serve as a key leader for the submodule assembly at the Electric Boat Quonset Point facility.

Collaborating closely as part of a submodule Project Team, the CPR will facilitate coordination and improve efficiency in the execution of VCS construction. As the deckplate leader for the D686 Virginia Program Office, the CPR will establish and communicate program priorities and objectives, ensuring alignment and enabling success among both internal teams and external stakeholders.

As a vital member of the Project Team, the CPR will collaborate across various departments within Electric Boat and the broader submarine enterprise. Operating in a fast-paced environment, each day presents new opportunities to address both tactical and strategic challenges faced by the team. Our team members are committed to leadership and continuous learning, proactively tackling high-risk issues, sharing lessons learned, and identifying opportunities to improve processes and outcomes for the future.

The Position:

The Quonset Point Virginia Aft End construction team has an opening for QTY 3 stand out individuals. This is a high-visibility position with regular exposure to Senior Leadership. It presents a valuable opportunity for a highly motivated individual to gain comprehensive knowledge across all functional areas within Electric Boat.

As a representative of the VCS Program Manager, the CPR shall oversee and manage the achievement of the program goals. The CPR shall develop and implement a strategy that is designed to affect continuous improvement for their assigned submodules.
  • The CPR is responsible for effectively executing, providing timely information, and coordination that allows the operation manager to resolve challenges and roadblocks before they become issues that impact the overall construction cost and schedule performance.
  • The CPR is responsible for ensuring that the submodule's performance metrics are tracked properly and reported out to the team
  • The CPR shall participate in the development, evaluation, and performance of each of their submodules manpower plan
  • The CPR shall ensure that material delivery for the ship supports the construction schedule and that any material hold-ups get resolved in a timely and expeditious manner.

The essential tools CPRs should have a working knowledge of to identify potential problems as well as monitor cost and schedule performance are (but not limited to); IMCS data, ARTEMIS, PowerBI, and Electronic Desktop (EWP, 3G, and 7G)
