Exciting Opportunity at MSK: We are looking for a Central Processing Technician II to join our Central Processing Department servicing our Main Operating Room. As an integral member of the perioperative team, you will directly support safe, high-quality surgical care by maintaining the readiness, accuracy, and integrity of surgical instruments and equipment.

Role Overview:

  • Inspect, sort, and prepare surgical instruments and patient care equipment for cleaning and decontamination.

  • Adhere to infection control standards, including proper hand hygiene and consistent use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) during decontamination activities.

  • Utilize the instrument management system to track, identify, and document instruments throughout the tray assembly process.

  • Prioritize tray and instrument assembly to support clinical needs and ensure timely availability for patient care areas.

  • Complete manual documentation and recordkeeping as required to support departmental workflows and compliance standards.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid CRCST Certification required

  • Experience using an instrument tracking system to scan, track, and document surgical instruments and trays.

Core Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of core sterilization techniques and the ability to consistently adhere to Hospital Infection Control policies.

  • Working knowledge of high-level disinfection equipment, including AERs, TEE probe reprocessors, and GUS machines.

  • Strong documentation skills with the ability to maintain accurate records, as well as an organized, clean, and compliant work environment.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment

  • Strong attention to detail with a safety-first mindset

  • Dependability and consistency across repetitive workflows

Additional Information:

  • Schedule: Our team currently has two shift options available: 3pm-11pm OR 11pm-7am Monday through Friday, weekend and holiday rotation

  • Location: 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY

  • Reporting to: Supervisor, Central Processing Department

Pay Range: $25.90 - $38.98 FSLA Status: Non-Exempt
