Job Description
About the Role This part-time, in-person position is part of a collaborative, service-focused team that supports students, faculty, staff, and community members. You'll help ensure that students have a smooth enrollment experience, assist customers in-person and online, and contribute to the daily operations of the office. If you enjoy problem-solving, learning new systems, and helping people, this role will give you many opportunities to make a positive impact. As a member of our team, you will:
- Respond to phone calls, emails, ticket requests, and walk-in questions with care and professionalism.
- Help manage daily office activities, including opening/closing procedures and supporting student requests in our university information system.
- Provide excellent customer service while working closely with a welcoming, experienced group of colleagues.
- Support special projects that help improve services and processes for our campus community.
Primary Responsibilities Registration Support
- Assist students during early and open registration by helping them add and drop courses.
- Use our ticketing system to document changes such as cancellations, withdrawals, late adds/drops, and administrative updates.
- Support Visiting Student registration and help manage agreements with partner institutions.
- Contribute to annual audit preparation and related tasks.
Enrollment & Degree Verifications
- Help students and third parties access enrollment and degree verification through the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC).
- Update the university information system (myZou) based on NSC requests.
- Research and confirm student record details using multiple systems to ensure accurate information.
Residency Support
- Answer questions by phone, email, and in person about residency requirements and processes.
FERPA Guidance
- Respond to inquiries from students, families, faculty, and staff about FERPA and related privacy policies.
- Explain access rights, privacy protections, and the steps required to share information with authorized third parties.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support team projects, office initiatives, and other duties as needed.
Shift
Flexible - Monday-Friday, between the hours of 8am-5pm.
Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired is necessary
Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary: $17.00 hourly Grade: GGS-006 University Title: Student Support Specialist I Internal applicants can determine their University title by accessing the Talent Profile tile in myHR.
