The Registered Nurse is a professional nurse registered in Massachusetts who is responsible and accountable for planning and providing patient care for assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care as set forth in the Nursing Department's Clinical Practice Manual. The Registered Nurse demonstrates initiative, knowledge, and clinical skills in caring for the patient with complex needs. The Registered Nurse demonstrates the ability to effectively manage patients by assuming full responsibility for the assessment, plan, implementation, and evaluation of patient care and is directly responsible to a designated nurse manager or supervisor. The Staff Nurse will be responsible for: * Triaging patient calls and EPIC inbox messaging. * Perform gynecological procedures, such as urodynamic testing, backfill voiding trials, percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation, post-void residual checks, and bladder instillations. * Provide pre-and post- gynecological surgery instructions for patients. * Manage FMLA paperwork and prior authorizations for medications and procedures. * Administer PO medications via the Omnicell. * Assist in pessary management. * Coordinate care for patients undergoing surgery or requiring consultations with other providers. Focus is on patients with pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, and bladder pain syndrome. Education Bachelor's Degree Nursing required Licenses and Credentials Massachusetts Registered Nurse required Experience Clinical nursing experience in Urology or Women's Health over the last 3 years is required. Clinical nursing experience in an ambulatory clinic/practice setting is preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities The Nurse must show evidence of the basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients. Must demonstrate observational skills and the ability to set priorities. Must be able to function under stress with good interpersonal and communication skills. Must demonstrate effective skills in applying hospital standards in area of service, teamwork, communication, respect for others, and time/priority management.
