What will you be doing?

  • This position will report into the Facility Maintenance Team. The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for completing maintenance tasks to repair furniture, fixtures and equipment as well as preserve the quality of a facility. Their duties include conducting routine maintenance checks, helping support HVAC, electrical and plumbing teams complete work orders and as assigned to the team. Maintains and repairs general plumbing components to include toilets, urinals, faucets, hose bibs, and drains.

  • Responding to maintenance requests and handling any necessary repairs, such as fixing flooring, door/locks, drywall, plaster and painting.

  • Performing quality checks on HVAC, air conditioning, plumbing and electrical systems

  • Assisting HVAC, Electricals and Plumbing techs in the performance of their work including installations and PMs.

  • Checking and responding to security and safety issues

  • Testing and recommending new maintenance products

  • Coordinating deliveries from vendors and suppliers

  • Keeping documents of inspections and problems

  • Doing exterior building maintenance and managing building/grounds and pest control services

  • Keeping an inventory of cleaning and repair supplies

  • Answer emergency calls quickly, assess the safety of the situation upon first arriving at the scene and provide directions to individuals affected by the emergency to ensure their continued safety and comfort.

  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

  • Participate in on-call rotation as required.

  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.

  • Maintain accurate service documentation and complete required reports in a timely manner.

What will you need to be successful?

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Required: Graduate of trade or vocational school in maintenance field preferred.

  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT) (Preferred)

  • EPA 608 Refrigeration Certification (Preferred)

  • Minimum of 3+ years as Facility Maintenance Technician, with demonstrated mastery repairing/maintaining building systems.

  • Construction skills such as carpentry, painting, masonry, roofing and welding

  • Working knowledge and general repairs skills associated with of HVAC systems, electrical systems, and plumbing systems.

  • Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills for fixing maintenance issues

  • Administrative skills for ordering supplies, handling records and scheduling maintenance

  • Physical strength and dexterity to lift, move and handle equipment

  • Ability to work effectively and make decisions without direct supervision.

  • Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.

  • Ability to lead others in troubleshooting and emergency repairs.

  • Ability to execute planned maintenance programs.

  • Ability to read, understand, and follows safety procedures.

  • Be able and willing to respond 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Be able to work weekends, nights, and holidays as needed

  • Oral/Written Communication Skills

  • Organizational and time management skills

  • Customer Service (internal customer base for manufacturing)

  • Diplomacy when dealing with coworkers, venders and our internal customers.

  • Standing and walking:Extended periods of standing and walking are required for monitoring and working throughout facilities.

  • The ability to frequently lift up to 50-75 pounds is often necessary, with occasional lifting of even heavier items (up to 150 pounds with assistance).

  • Bending, stooping, and kneeling:These movements are frequently required to perform cleaning tasks, pick up objects, and operate equipment.

  • Repetitive motion:Tasks involve repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers, such as using cleaning equipment.

  • Reaching is required to access high and difficult-to-reach areas.

  • Travel Requirements: <10%
