These roles are responsible for the administration, preparation, dispensing, and management of medications and other health products to ensure safe and effective patient care. Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians work in various settings, including pharmacies, the UVA hospitals, clinics, and research facilities.
These roles are responsible for assisting pharmacists in the preparation, dispensing, and management of medications and supporting pharmacy operations. Responsible for tasks such as filling prescriptions, maintaining medication inventory, and processing insurance claims, ensuring that pharmacy operations run smoothly and efficiently under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. About the Department UVA Health's Inpatient Pharmacy serves an average daily census of 528 patients across the hospital. Our pharmacy technicians are essential to the safe and timely delivery of medications, working under the supervision of licensed pharmacists or independent practitioners. Physical Demands - Job requires standing for prolonged periods. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull less than 20lbs. Onboarding Requirements Background checks and pre-employment health screenings will be conducted on all new hires prior to employment. All safety-sensitive positions with direct patient interaction also require a drug screen. The starting base rate for this role is $20.68 hourly.
