HOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSION The Email Marketing Specialist is responsible to plan, execute, and optimize email campaigns to achieve business goals through data-driven strategies, content personalization, and audience segmentation.
Their duties include working with internal and vendor partners to develop copy and design of email templates, segmenting email lists, and analyzing campaign performance metrics like open and click-through rates to improve future campaigns. They will also oversee the email marketing engagement platform and automation tools to manage the entire process, from list management to sending out newsletters and other email blasts.

WHAT YOU WILL DO



  • Performance analysis: Monitor key metrics like open rates, click-through rates, and conversions. Use data to continuously test, measure and optimize the email marketing program performance, optimizing towards higher success metrics. Develop consistent and digestible reporting. Ensure end-to-end tracking and proper measurement and troubleshooting email platform integration issues and maintaining data integrity.
  • Campaign management: Execute a wide variety of email marketing and SMS campaigns, such as newsletters, promotional emails, and automated sequences. Responsible for audits and setup of campaigns and email automation of current and potential customers. Manage daily operations of a centralized, email marketing channel marketing calendar. Participate in cross-functional planning meetings to ensure alignment on timelines, deliverables, and campaign objectives.
  • List management: Compile, clean, and segment email lists to ensure the right messages are sent to the right audiences. Handling day-to-day tasks in the email marketing platform/CRM including user setup, data management, system customization, and training.
  • Automation and optimization: serve as organizational point person for the email marketing platform to automate all email campaigns and personalize communications.
  • Content and design: Collaborate closely with other Marketing departments in the organization and our Membership Agency of Record to help develop compelling email correspondence and journeys.
  • Compliance and maintenance: Ensure campaigns comply with email marketing regulations and maintain the health and deliverability of email databases. Experience in Google postmaster tools and/or other email deliverability monitoring tools is a plus.


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR JOB EXPERIENCE



  • Minimum 3 years' experience in email marketing production, optimization and performance analysis, preferably with a non-profit member based organization.
  • Hands-on experience with CRM and email platforms such as Marketing Cloud or similar required.
  • Strong analytical skills, understanding of A / B testing practices, ability to draw conclusions from data and take action accordingly required.
  • Knowledge of email design principles, including HTML for formatting preferred.
  • Expertise in email best practices, including segmentation, deliverability, copy and design approaches required.
  • Deep understanding of data flows such as those between a ticketing platform and email platform preferred.



EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, communication, or related field and/or equivalent specialized training preferred.



SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE



  • Strong working knowledge of multi-channel marketing concepts, with preferred experience in digital advertising.
  • Proficient use of software programs, including CRM platforms.
  • Able to operate Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Power Point.
  • Working knowledge of general accounting principles.
  • Effective teamwork skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time and projects effectively.
