Desktop Support Technician Workplace Type: On-site Location: Rochester, NY 14642 Contract: 6month contract-to-hire (C2H) Parking: ~$30/month Schedule: 40 hours/week, fully on-site About the Role We are seeking a Desktop Support Technician to join a growing IT support team that has recently taken on a significantly larger group of end users. The ideal candidate will have strong experience supporting Windows 10 environments, performing hardware and software break-fix, and delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced, multisite environment. Key Responsibilities * Provide desktop support for a large user base (1,000+ users and 600+ devices) * Troubleshoot issues related to Windows 10, hardware, software, networking, and peripherals * Perform software installations, desktop builds, device deployment, and workstation setup * Resolve end-user tickets via remote tools, in-person support, and email * Handle hardware/software break-fix scenarios * Provide light support for Linux servers or Mac systems (experience required) * Assist with Active Directory tasks such as password resets and user support * Collaborate with end users and technical teams across multiple on-site locations Required Skills & Experience * 2+ years of Desktop Support experience, primarily with Windows 10 * Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and operating systems * Experience supporting large user bases in a structured environment * Light experience with Linux or macOS * Familiarity with remote support tools and ticketing systems * Excellent communication and customer service skills * A+ Certification preferred; additional certifications are a plus Nice-to-Have Skills * Active Directory experience * macOS support * Broader Linux support * General IT support across multiple platforms Work Environment * Fully on-site role with occasional off-site support needs * Frequent face-to-face interaction with end users * Collaborative team culture with strong support and opportunities for growth Employee Value Proposition * Stable environment with long-term growth potential * Supportive team culture * Competitive benefits package (including retirement plan options) Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochester, NY.
