Ocean Spray is hiring for a(n) Sr. Regulatory Scientist! We're a team of farmers, thinkers, creators, and doers. Position Location: We're all about flexibility! This will be a hybrid role based out of our corporate headquarters in Lakeville, MA with Mondays and Fridays remote.

We are seeking a detail oriented and strategic Senior Regulatory Scientist to ensure global regulatory compliance related to product packaging, safety, and labeling. In this role, you will partner closely with cross-functional teams-including Packaging, Sustainability, Quality Assurance, Legal, Government Affairs and Marketing-to support the technical regulatory elements of innovation and product development.

You will proactively identify regulatory risks by horizon scanning, guide teams through evolving regulatory landscapes, and ensure packaging compliance with food contact, packaging sustainability, and materials management regulations.

A Day in the Life...

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of global packaging compliance regulations, including food contact andmaterials management requirements (e.g., EPR, PCR, PFAS), to support product development and market readiness

  • Apply proficiency in labeling, food safety, and claims regulations; additional expertise in these areas is considered a plus

  • Conduct horizon scanning to identify emerging trends and new regulations to evaluate regulatory risks, assess potential business impacts and distill into actionable guidance

  • Communicate regulatory and technical issues clearly and effectively to cross-functional stakeholders to help drive alignment and contribute to tactical roadmaps

  • Enhance and maintain Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems and tools to track packaging attributes and support portfolio assessments

  • Exhibit strong data stewardship, including management of regulatory records, supplier documentation, and testing data within structured systems

  • Provide regulatory expertise for ingredient compliance, nutrition labeling, and claims substantiation for global beverage and food products and translate the information into practical specifications, SOP updates and test plans

  • Develop and issue regulatory compliance statements for customers, ensuring accurate representation of product, ingredient, and packaging compliance with applicable regulations

  • Participate in external meetings, working groups, and webinars to stay current on regulatory developments relevant to the business

What We Are Looking For:

Required

  • BS or MS (preferred) in Food Science, Chemistry, Packaging Science, Materials Science, or related field and 3+ years of experience

  • Results-oriented teammate capable of working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities

  • Strong ability to make fact-based decisions and influence others

  • Strong organizational & analytical skills

  • Experience utilizing data collection, analysis, maintenance, application, and refinement methods

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including SharePoint) and regulatory research tools. Familiarity with PLM systems is a plus

  • Demonstrated accountability, teamwork, and collaboration in a fast-paced environment

Education:

Bachelor's or University Degree (Required) Master's Degree (Preferred)

Work Experience:

At least 3 Years of Experience

Annual Salary:

$79,400 - $109,230

The base salary range information above serves as a guideline of the position's typical hiring range.
