Class A Yard Driver

Staffmark Drivers is seeking new talent in Houston, TX, and hiring an experienced Class A Yard Driver to join our team!

This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with great overtime potential and the chance to be home every day!

Pay: $24.00 - $25.00/hr + Overtime

Schedule:

• Sunday: 7:00 AM start time until finish
• Monday - Thursday: 2:00 PM start time until finish
• Off Fridays & Saturdays (unless OT is scheduled)

Job Details:

• Local yard and warehouse work
• Operate yard mules and tractors to move trailers in a tight yard (must be comfortable maneuvering in close spaces)
• Freight: General merchandise (mixed freight)
• Touch-freight - includes pulling orders, staging, and loading trucks
• Use of walkie rider pallet jacks
• Lifting required: up to 75-100 lbs
• Vehicle Type: Yard mule and Class A tractor

Job Duties:

• Perform required vehicle safety inspections before, during, and after dispatch
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report maintenance issues
• Represent the company professionally and courteously
• Read and interpret shipping orders and exception forms
• Be available for work as scheduled to meet customer delivery demands

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Class A CDL and DOT Medical Card
• Minimum 1 year of verifiable CDL A experience in the last 3 years
• No more than 3 moving violations and/or preventable accidents in the last 3 years
• Clear FMCSA Clearinghouse report
• Acceptable MVR and ability to pass all pre-employment screenings
• Must be comfortable working in a warehouse setting as well as operating a yard truck
• Forklift certification is a plus
