About the Role We are seeking a Patient Access Representative to support frontend hospital operations and deliver exceptional service to patients, families, and clinical partners. This position plays a key role in ensuring a smooth registration process, accurate financial documentation, and a positive patient experience. Candidates must demonstrate strong customer service skills, reliability, and steady work history. Location: Hospital Setting Schedule Options: * Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM * Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM-3:00 PM * Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM Key Responsibilities * Deliver Exceptional Service: Greet patients, provide worldclass customer service, and complete full registration at time of service. * Ensure Accurate Documentation: Explain and obtain hospital and legal forms (Advance Directives, Consent for Treatment, Medicare notices, etc.). * Manage Patient Information: Scan/organize PHI, prepare patient packets, and maintain accurate patient records. * Support Scheduling: Assist with scheduling diagnostic procedures and postdischarge care; enter scheduling details and provide clear instructions. * Educate & Assist with Financials: Explain patient financial responsibilities; use compliant collection techniques before, during, and after service. * Handle Payments Securely: Reconcile payments and ensure accurate financial processing per hospital policy. * Verify Coverage & Obtain Authorizations: Confirm insurance eligibility, benefits, coverage, and authorizations for scheduled/unscheduled services; notify payors of inpatient visits. * Resolve Issues: Address patient or physician office concerns and escalate when necessary. * Contribute to Department Workflow: Work in at least two Patient Access service areas, including the Emergency Department; support internal communication and workflow needs. Required Qualifications * Strong customer service experience in healthcare, insurance, or administrative office settings * High School Diploma or GED * Minimum typing speed of 35 WPM Work Environment * Hospital administrative setting with potential exposure to patient conditions * May experience high patient volumes and situations involving distressed or uncooperative patients * Supports both internal staff and external customers, including physician offices Why This Position Is Open Due to new business growth and expanding client needs, we are hiring additional Patient Access Representatives to support hospital operations and patient experience. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Windsor, VT. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.89 - $22.30/hr.
