Job Description




As a Security Officer - Cargo Screening in Ontario, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry points by screening associates, visitors, and deliveries, verifying credentials, and supporting package and vehicle checks. You will conduct routine patrols, stay visible to help deter security-related incidents, and communicate clearly with site teams. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Screen employees, visitors, and drivers at designated entry points, following established screening protocols and access requirements.
  • Operate and monitor screening equipment and/or manual screening processes as assigned, reporting unusual items, prohibited items, and/or irregular conditions per site procedures.
  • Verify identification, visitor authorization, and delivery or pickup documentation before granting access to restricted areas.
  • Control access to docks, gates, and screening checkpoints, helping to maintain orderly traffic flow for pedestrians and vehicles.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through the chain of command as needed.
  • Complete security-related reports, logs, and screening records with clear, timely, and accurate information.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, watching for unauthorized access, tampering, and/or unusual activity. Working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Communicate professionally with site personnel, drivers, and vendors to provide directions, answer questions, and support site operations while following post orders.

Minimum Requirements:

  • - Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • - Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • - Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • - Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • - Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • - A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
