As an Armed Patrol Officer at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that can help to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to calls for assistance, support staff and visitors with clear communication and customer service, and document observations. Why Join Us: What You'll Do: - Provide customer service to staff, donors, patients, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalating conflicts and requesting assistance from management, emergency services, and/or Allied Universal leadership as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility, including public areas, donor screening and treatment areas as permitted, offices, and the exterior perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
- Monitor access points and help to control entry and exit by observing visitor flow, checking credentials when required, and reporting unauthorized persons and/or suspicious activity.
- Perform routine security-related checks of doors, gates, lighting, and other physical conditions, and promptly report maintenance concerns and/or hazards according to site procedures.
- Observe and report signs of theft, property damage, policy violations, and/or suspicious behavior; document observations using required reports and electronic systems.
- Assist with incident documentation, including completing reports with accurate details, maintaining chain of communication, and preserving information for follow-up.
- Support emergency preparedness actions such as alarms, evacuations, shelter-in-place procedures, and medical emergencies by following post orders and coordinating with site personnel and/or responding agencies.
- Maintain a professional presence while interacting with the public, providing directions and general assistance while upholding site rules and post instructions.
- Operate communications equipment such as radios and telephones, and maintain timely communication with site contacts, dispatch, and/or supervisors regarding changing conditions.
Minimum Requirements: - - Possess an Armed Guard Card and/or license.
- - Have at least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
- - A Guard Card and/or license is preferred.
- - Pepper spray certification is preferred.
- - Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- - Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- - Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- - Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- - Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- - A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
