Job Description




As a Security Officer - Hospital Rounds in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, stay visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and provide clear, professional customer service to staff and visitors. You will document observations, communicate concerns promptly, and support a respectful environment. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and staff by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, corridors, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Control access at entrances and restricted areas by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, and directing individuals to appropriate departments or waiting areas.
  • Monitor CCTV, alarms, radios, and other monitoring systems, and communicate observations to site leadership and/or public agency partners as required by post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, unauthorized entry attempts, and/or medical or operational emergencies.
  • Support the protection of sensitive work areas by following site rules for controlled access, key control, and documentation of entries and exits.
  • Complete detailed activity logs, incident reports, and shift handoff notes in accordance with Allied Universal and site documentation requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality of medical, investigative, and operational information encountered while performing duties, sharing information only with authorized personnel.
  • Assist with basic crowd management during high-traffic periods, deliveries, and/or coordinated operations, providing clear directions and de-escalation support when needed.
  • Participate in briefings, training, and drills, and follow site-specific procedures for emergencies, evacuations, and/or facility disruptions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
