Job Description




As a Security Officer - Flex Gatehouse Control in Ocala, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry and exit points, verify credentials, monitor activity, and support visitor and contractor check-in. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and provide clear customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to onsite personnel, drivers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at entrances, gates, and/or guard stations by verifying identification, issuing temporary credentials, and maintaining visitor and contractor logs.
  • Screen and direct delivery drivers to designated check-in areas, verify shipping and receiving documentation as required, and communicate access decisions to warehouse leadership.
  • Monitor alarms, access control systems, and/or video surveillance equipment, and report unusual activity per site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or emergency services as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
  • Perform outbound and inbound checks as required, including inspecting trailers, seal numbers, and/or vehicle contents when authorized by site policy.
  • Document incidents, access denials, and/or policy violations in clear written reports and maintain required daily activity logs.
  • Assist with crowd control and traffic flow during shift changes and peak shipping and receiving periods.
  • Support loss prevention efforts by observing for conditions that may help to deter unauthorized access, theft, and/or property damage, and escalating concerns through the chain of command.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
