OB/GYN Medical Coder (Remote - Cannot be located in CA, AK, HI) Contract to Hire \| 6 Months Pay Rate: $25-$32/hour We are seeking an experienced OB/GYN Medical Coder to support a large, well-established acute care hospital system in Maryland. This is a 100% remote contract opportunity for a highly skilled professional with a strong background in OB/GYN professional and surgical coding within an acute hospital setting. This role offers the chance to partner with a respected healthcare organization, contribute to accurate reimbursement and compliance, and work remotely while making an impact in women's health services. What You'll Do * Review and interpret operative reports and physician documentation to accurately assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes * Ensure coding accuracy, compliance, and optimal charge capture in accordance with established guidelines * Serve as a liaison between clinical teams and billing departments, responding to inquiries in a timely manner * Review and analyze medical records to ensure quality, accuracy, and completeness for reimbursement and reporting * Meet established productivity and quality benchmarks * Participate in required coding education, departmental meetings, and training sessions * Uphold patient confidentiality and consistently demonstrate professional, respectful communication What We're Looking For * High School Diploma or GED required * Active CPC or CCS-P certification required * 2+ years of OB/GYN professional services coding experience required * 2+ years of OB/GYN surgical coding experience in an acute hospital setting preferred * Minimum of 3 years of production coding experience in a surgical or physician practice environment * Strong proficiency in abstracting ICD-10-CM and CPT codes from provider documentation * Experience with outpatient professional fee revenue cycle management preferred * Certified Obstetrics Gynecology Coder (COBGC) preferred * Must have own equipment to work remotely Work Environment * 100% Remote * Collaborative, fast-paced healthcare environment Why This Opportunity * Competitive hourly pay ($25-$32/hr) * Fully remote work-no commute * Opportunity to support a leading Maryland-based healthcare system * Ideal for seasoned OB/GYN coders looking for flexibility and meaningful work Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baltimore, MD.
