Job Description




As a Security Officer - Flex Courthouse Patrol in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Learn more: aus.com/earnmore. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government location. You will conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols, stay highly visible, and help to discourage security-related incidents through professional presence and clear communication. You will respond to alarms and service requests, document observations using site technology, and assist staff and visitors with a customer-first approach. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate personnel and/or public resources as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and help to control entry and exit for employees, visitors, vendors, and deliveries in accordance with site procedures.
  • Observe and report unusual activity, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns, and document observations in written and/or electronic reports.
  • Operate and monitor security-related systems such as radios, phones, and video monitoring equipment as assigned by the site.
  • Assist with crowd direction, queue management, and special event support as directed by site leadership.
  • Complete routine administrative tasks such as logging patrols, writing incident reports, and maintaining required documentation per Allied Universal and site guidelines.
  • Communicate professionally with staff, visitors, and responding personnel, providing directions and answering questions while maintaining post awareness.
  • Support evacuation, shelter-in-place, and other emergency procedures when directed, following post orders and training.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • X-ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
