What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, requesting additional resources as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, walkways, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or policy concerns.
  • Monitor access points and verify authorization as directed by post orders, assisting with visitor directions and entry procedures.
  • Observe and report suspicious activity, unsecured doors, broken windows, lighting issues, and other conditions that may require attention.
  • Assist with security-related support during campus events, including crowd guidance, line management, and coordination with site contacts.
  • Perform welfare checks and provide escorts when requested and permitted by site procedures.
  • Receive, document, and communicate alarms, calls for service, and radio traffic, escalating concerns per site protocol.
  • Complete patrol logs, incident reports, and other required documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Coordinate with campus partners and emergency responders during incidents, providing information and scene support as directed.
  • Maintain a professional presence, follow uniform standards, and adhere to Allied Universal policies and site-specific post orders.
  • Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
