As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a fast-paced transportation location, you will greet travelers and team members, manage entry points, verify credentials, and direct visitors to the right areas. You will conduct routine patrols nearby, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with clear communication and customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a transportation location.
  • Control access at designated entry points by verifying credentials, checking identification, and directing employees, vendors, and visitors to the appropriate areas.
  • Monitor access control systems and alarms, issue and recover temporary badges and/or passes per site policy, and document exceptions.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with crowd management and coordinating notifications per post orders.
  • Conduct security-related screening support as assigned, such as managing queuing, confirming authorization for restricted areas, and reporting prohibited items per policy.
  • Perform regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, including terminals, gates, loading areas, and adjacent parking areas as assigned.
  • Observe and report suspicious activity, unattended items, and/or policy violations, helping to deter unauthorized access and disruption.
  • Complete shift reports, access logs, and incident documentation with accurate details, and communicate significant information during post handoff.
  • Provide directions and general assistance to travelers and staff, helping maintain orderly flow through access points during peak periods.
  • Support Allied Universal supervisors and client representatives with operational needs, including access updates, special event movements, and temporary restricted-area changes.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
